Renee Nicholas

Renee Nicholas is the VP of Advocacy and Strategic Collaborations overseeing the development of Stand Up To Cancer’s (SU2C) relationships with cancer advocacy and research organizations. Her recent focus on increasing awareness of the importance of cancer clinical trials extends to a broad campaign to increase diverse participation by patients from a wide array of ethnic, race, genetic ancestry and geographical characteristics to ensure that the treatments developed will be effective for all cancer patients. Central to this effort, Renee is primary liaison with the SU2C Health Equity Committee comprised of top cancer researchers, advocates, and thought leaders working to develop formal guidance related to SU2C-supported clinical trials. As a ten-year cancer survivor and former leader at the LIVESTRONG Foundation, a cancer survivorship organization, Renee brings a comprehensive and intimate understanding of the cancer patient experience, and a unique ability to translate complex healthcare concepts into approachable and effective implementation strategies. Renee’s work for Stand Up To Cancer includes the development of a comprehensive Public Service Campaign, website, and “snackable” videos to explain the complex world of cancer clinical trials. She guides the continuing development of this campaign.
